Cannabis Factory In Ruislip

Posted by Charlene Mitchell on Jun 19, 08 01:27 PM in Crime

A CANNABIS factory containing 700 plants with a street value of over £100,000 was discovered in Ruislip.
South Ruislip Safer Neighbourhoods Team discovered the factory at an address in Northolt Avenue, South Ruislip, on June 16.
The officers had to use force to gain entry to the rented four-bedroom detached bungalow, after they received intelligence from the local community and EDF Energy who were concerned about the high use of electricity.
All the rooms contained plants and equipment for the cultivation and harvest of cannabis and the entire premises had been rewired with sophisticated equipment to by-pass the electricity meter, and a ventilation system was in place to assist with the plant growth.
The property has now been boarded up and no arrests have been made but police are continuing their investigation.
PS Ian Stacey said: "This is another example of South Ruislip Safer Neighbourhoods team acting to safeguard our community. We will always act on information received from members of the public whether it be within our local community or outside.
"We are here to improve the quality of life of the local community in South Ruislip and these sort of activities will not be tolerated."
Anyone who has information or is suspicious about drug activity should contact the police or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
