THE public are invited to attend a charity jazz concert in Ruislip to raise money for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
The concert will take place at 2pm on Saturday, September 7 at St. Martin's Church, Eastcote Road, Ruislip.
Performing are Steve Law, on the piano and Janine van den Burgh doing vocals.
Tickets are £7 on the door and £5 for children and OAPs and the event is expected to run no later than 5pm.
Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (or PSP) involves the progressive death of neurons in the brain.
It affects balance, mobility, vision, speech and the ability to swallow, leaving many sufferers eventually unable to walk, feed themselves or communicate effectively with the world around them.
AN APPLICATION to build a 60-bedroom hotel in Ruislip was withdrawn yesterday (Thursday).
The development would have replaced Jet Petrol Station in Midcroft if approved at the North Planning Committee of Hillingdon Councul.
However, it was withdrawn by the applicant on the day of the meeting.
FREE weekend calls to international destinations are being offered by the post office.
Customers can sign up to Post Office HomePhone at the post office in High Street, Ruislip, at 10.30am on Tuesday, September 2 to receive free weekend calls to 20 countries.
The free calls are up to one hour and can be made from 6pm on Fridays to 6am on Mondays.

AN EXCITED Ruislip youngster celebrated her dream birthday by meeting her Olympic hero Rebecca Adlington on Sunday.
Rebecca Creighton, who will be 12 years-old tomorrow (Thursday), was watching the record breaking Gold medal team arrive back in Britain at home in Ruislip when her family decided to head down to Heathrow and meet them.
They rushed down to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Heathrow, where the team were hosting their press conference and were able to mingle with the winners.
As well as meeting double gold medallist Adlington, Rebecca also had her photo taken with rower Pete Reed, who put the gold medal he won in the men's coxless four around her neck.
Rebecca, who is a sports enthusiast, now wants to volunteer at 2012, and has been inspired by meeting Rebecca Adlington to take up swimming once more.
Bernie Creighton, her mother, said: "It only took us 15 minutes to get down there, and suddenly we were mingling with them all, and they were all absolutely lovely, Rebecca cannot wait for 2012 now."

THE Royal Air Force Squadronaires are coming to Ruislip to perform in a concert to raise funds for charity.
Ruislip Lions Club have organised the concert to raise money for the Soldiers, Sailors, Air Force and Families Association.
The concert will be performed at Winston Churchill Hall in Pinn Way, Ruislip, on September 4 and tickets are £12 for adults and £8 for children.
