A LUCKY South Ruislip football fan won the opportunity to take part in a penalty shoot-out in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Philip Moroney of Royal Crescent, took part in a online competition to win his place at the penalty shoot-out during half time at the England v Kazakhstan match.

Three players were chosen at random from the leader board of a Nationwide online game to take part in the Nationwide Home Nations Penalty Shoot-Out.

The 32-year-old yard foreman, said: "It was a great experience, but it didn't go very well.

"We each had three penalties and whoever scored the most won but we scored one each.

"We were given another two penalties but we missed them all so the goalkeeper won a signed England shirt. He was a Nationwide employee.

"I am a Brentford fan so I am used to losing in penalties.

"Nerves got the better of me and when I missed the third penalty I sort of went to pieces. I was trying to hit them too hard and I was hitting them over the bar.

"I only wish I had done better, but I got good seats to watch the game and I took my girlfriend. My parents came to watch me and I had friends in the crowd as well.

"At least I can say I scored at Wembley."
