Ruislip and Eastcote Gazette to be relaunched
RESPONDING to feedback from our readers, the Uxbridge Gazette is boosting its continued coverage of Hillingdon borough by relaunching one of its editions.
After listening to your views, a new Ruislip, Eastcote and Northwood edition of the Gazette will be available from next Wednesday (6).
The final Northwood & Rickmansworth and Ruislip & Eastcote editions of the Gazette were published yesterday (29).
The decision has been made by the editorial director of the newspaper, based on feedback from readers since the former Ruislip and Northwood Gazette edition was split in October 2008.
Chairman of the Northwood Hills Residents' Association (NHRA), Andrew Riley, said: "Changing the title and coverage area of the Gazette is very welcomed.
"I congratulate the Gazette for responding so positively to feedback from readers. The new coverage area is a very logical footprint and will make it easier for both the Gazette and readers to identify with each other."
Multimedia content manager of the Uxbridge Gazette, Shujaul Azam, said: "These changes are in response to what our readers have been telling us.
"We hope this will further strengthen the coverage with more specific news pages dedicated to the area.
"The Gazette not only welcomes feedback from both our readers and advertisers but also acts on it too."
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos

Would be wonderful if it could actually be delivered to us? Despite repeated requests, our new development (over 300 houses) have been neglected by your delivery team.
Thank you for your posting.
I think you might be confusing the Gazette, a paid-for paper, with the Leader, which is free and delivered in certain postcode areas but unfortunately not all.
You can pick up a copy of the Leader from most area estate agents, and, of course, buy a copy of the Gazette at all your local newsagent's, stores, supermarkets etc.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the clarification, I was indeed thinking of the Leader, is that not to be relaunched also?
Drivers consistently speed past Grangewood and Coteford Junior Schools in Fore Street. It is only a matter of time before there is a serious accident. The entrance to the school is on a T junction and between two blind bends. Hillingdon Council has put a width restriction in at the opposite end of the street, outside the Infants, but there is nothing at this end where drivers are going much faster. The schools are situated right where Fore Street changes from being a 'country lane' to a narrow suburban road, with no warning. I see near misses regularly. Please Hillingdon Council take notice of our plea to reduce the speeding - often by very young and inexperienced drivers - on this dangerous road.
We're always looking at ways to improve our titles. Watch this space!
Susan, perhaps if you directed your message to your local councillors, rather than on an article regarding the relaunch of the Observer, something may be done about the issues you raise.
