A RUISLIP man has been charged with burglary and possessing a knife after allegedly being caught up in one of the incidents of vandalism and theft that broke out in the borough - including a South Ruislip retail park - last week.

A Curry's store window was smashed and 12 men were arrested in connection with looting at Argos, in Victoria Retail Park, Victoria Way, South Ruislip on Monday.

Other parts of the area became a "ghost town" on Tuesday as fears spread it would become a target for rioters who wreaked havoc in nearby Ealing and other parts of London the previous night .

Developing the vacant Initial House site in Field End Road has been a major talking point for years but Eastcote Residents' Association (ERA) has now agreed that a plan for a Travelodge on the site is the best available option.

Taekwondo web.pngSUPPORT is growing in South Ruislip for a threatened community hall that faces a potentially disastrous hike in the rent it pays to Hillingdon Council.

A decision on the lease at Deane Park Hall is due in September but more than 800 local people have signed a petition calling on the council to restore a 25-year contract with South Ruislip Community Association (SRCA), which has run the hall for 80 years.
