Heinz Wolff web.jpgSCIENTIST Heinz Wolff was the popular special guest at the very first presentation evening for Ruislip High School on Wednesday (16).

The German-born presenter of The Great Egg Race gave an "inspiring" speech to pupils about the importance of achievement at school.

Five-years-old this term, Ruislip High celebrated its first GCSE results in August and has since opened a sixth-form for A-level students.

Director of learning support Rosalie Taylor helped organise the event - the venue for which had to be switched just two days before because of demand.

Ms Taylor told the Gazette: "It went amazingly well, the response was immense and we had to change the venue to get everyone seated.

"Heinz Wolff was amazing and everyone wanted his autograph afterwards. He gave an inspiring talk about achievement aimed at the students, who were in awe of him.

"The prize winners really enjoyed the evening. I personally felt very proud to have been part of the proceedings, and Martina Lecky, our new headteacher felt the same."

We'd like to hear from you.
