Knights are just like the Queen!

A RUISLIP couple were toasting each other as well as the Queen at the weekend as they marked their diamond wedding anniversary.

Majorie and Jack Knight, aged 84 and 87, celebrated 60 years of marriage on Saturday, June 2.

TREES toppled last week as high winds buffeted the borough.

Hillingdon Council confirmed there were around 30 trees or parts of trees that have been or are in the process of being cleared by its contractors since Friday.

Steve Robson web.jpgAFTER 36 years of teaching, the principal of the borough's biggest secondary school is retiring to take up bird watching in Wales.

Steve Robson has led Haydon School in Eastcote since 2007 after starting there in 1986. He was previously the head of geography at Queensmead School in South Ruislip.

Eight in one-bed flat web.jpgA FAMILY of eight, including three primary school children, have been living in a one-bed Ruislip flat for six months.

The grandparents sleep on a bed which is kept in a living room cupboard and folds down at night.

The two eldest children, aged 10 and eight, sleep on the floor in sleeping bags, and mum and dad share a double bed with their four-year-old son who was recently diagnosed with autism.
