A RUISLIP couple were toasting each other as well as the Queen at the weekend as they marked their diamond wedding anniversary.

Majorie and Jack Knight, aged 84 and 87, celebrated 60 years of marriage on Saturday, June 2.

The couple married in her home town of Swansea, where Mr Knight, originally from Northamptonshire, was stationed during the Second World War.

His identical brother, Bob, was best man at the wedding and his future wife, Mrs Knight's best friend Jean, was a bridesmaid.

The couple moved to Derby, where Mr Knight worked on the railway, and then to South Ruislip in 1958.

They were both heavily involved with the charity Mencap. Mr Knight served on various committees and they both helped run the Christmas card shop.

They have two daughters, Elizabeth and Christine, and five grandchildren, Michael, Timothy, Jane, Callum and Rory.

We'd like to hear from you.
